APPLICATION

• Use a drill to ensure a vertical alignment while creating mortise holes.
• Check that the drill's diameter corresponds with the width of the mortise hole.
• Start on both ends of the hole and guide the chisel from the ends inward.
• After working on the ends, move toward the center.
• The grain and density of the wood affect the chisel's ability to cut through the material.
