Common Inquiries:
1. Ideal timings for readings:
(1) Fasting plasma glucose (Requires a fasting period of at least 8 to 10 hours during which only water is permitted).
(2) Two hours after a meal (Timing starts from the initial bite).
2. Typical glucose level ranges:
* Method for converting units:
Blood glucose levels are generally expressed in two formats: mmol/L and mg/dL. You can easily convert between these units using a factor of 18. To change mmol/L to mg/dL, multiply by 18; to convert mg/dL to mmol/L, divide by 18.
3. Sample collection guidelines:
(1) Ensure the alcohol has completely dried, as any leftover can distort the results.
(2) Discard the first drop of blood, as it may contain interstitial fluid.
4. User instructions:
Bring the blood droplet close to the edge of the test strip to promote effective absorption by the test paper. Apply the blood on the side of the strip nearest to the small port found on the upper left.
Then position the device at a 45-degree incline towards the suction port.
5. Possible inaccuracies:
Anticipate a variance of roughly 15% to 20%.
The results may be influenced by improper handling, changes in diet, or emotional stress. However, the error margin for this blood glucose meter remains below 20%, which should not interfere with patient treatment protocols.
