1. XS - Kittens: (under 6 months, approximately 5 pounds / 2.5 kg)
Soft cat nail caps typically accommodate most kittens once they reach 16 weeks (4 months) of age. Some kittens may start using them as early as 12 weeks (3 months). To assess the fit, initially try a nail cap without any adhesive. If it appears too large, do not apply it. The nail cap should fit securely, akin to a glove. For younger kittens, you can trim the tip of the nail cap to better fit your kitten's claw. Kittens weighing up to around 5 pounds / 2.5 kg and/or 5 months usually fit into the kitten category.
2. S - Small: (roughly 6 months old - between 6-8 pounds / 2.5-4 kg)
Some kittens at 5 months might need the small size, particularly those that are growing quickly or belong to larger breeds. Smaller adult cats typically wear the small size. If your cat seems smaller than the average adult cat, it’s advisable to go with small.
3. M - Medium: (approximately 9-13 pounds / 4-6 kg)
The majority of standard-sized adult cats fit into the medium size.
4. L - Large: (approximately 14 pounds / 6 kg and above)
Extra-large or big breed cats generally need the large size. For example, Maine Coons are classified as large cats and usually require the large size.
